Our Vision

We are excited about bringing a delicatessen back to the High Street in Newtown

For us, a delicatessen is about local produce, great regional (Welsh) tastes and handpicked speciality food and drink, for special occasions and for healthy, delicious mealtimes

Our delicatessen celebrates unique and individual produce by offering choices for local shoppers who want to support hard-working and talented independent producers

We are also committed to introducing small batch, well-sourced tastes to customers who relish homemade options made with great ingredients … increasingly, we will offer lunchtime options, starting with soups to warm up winter days and a range of panini choices to showcase our cheese counter

This is our vision for The High Street Delicatessen

Our mission is to showcase and celebrate great tastes. Our focus is on creating – quite literally – a shop window for products of style and substance.

From Coaltown Coffee, which is creating a future for a heritage coal mining community, to the single origin honey from Coedcanlas, in the beautiful setting of Pembrokeshire, we are handpicking special products from special producers. We want customers to see things on our shelves that they haven’t found anywhere else.

I haven’t been in this shop for years so I was pleasantly surprised when I popped in last week. I was treated to a mini tour and given an idea of the produce that this lovely little shop supplies. It was a feast for the eyes and made all the better by Barrie who along with his wife have turned this lovely shop into a treasure in Newtown, we need other such treasures in this wonderful historic town
