At The High Street Delicatessen, we like to know what ingredients have gone into our food. So, for us, homemade is best!
Every day is homemade cake day!
Customers love Mrs Deli’s deli-cious cakes, which are the perfect accompaniment to Coaltown Coffee or a hot chocolate on a cold day. From traditional Bara Brith to the hugely popular Lemon Drizzle Cake, Sticky Gingerbread and a selection of Mrs Deli’s muffins, there is always a cake to match your mood.
It turns out it is not just our lovely customers who can’t get enough of Mrs Deli’s Bara Brith! The judges at The Guild of Fine Food tasted it for their Great Taste Awards …
… and they loved it SO much, they awarded it a coveted Gold Star in 2016.
Take a bow Mrs Deli!
So, why not sit in to relax a while and unwind, or ‘grab and go‘ safe in the knowledge that friends and work colleagues will have instant ‘cake envy’!
Do YOU have a favourite cake … Mrs Deli would love to hear your ideas and, you never know, she might just bake it!
Mr Deli does NOT want to be left out. As the colder Autumn and Winter mornings come to mid-Wales, there is nothing better than the warming taste of a homemade soup. Mr Deli is trawling through the cookbooks to bring you a great selection; check out:
Carrot, Cashew, Coriander
Hearty Italian Bean
Chunky Moroccan Harira
Whisper it quietly, there will be usually be some seasonal treats. Mrs Deli’s suet-free mincemeat and Mr Deli’s Runner Bean Chutney have both made appearances on the tasting counter.
Homemade is definitely best!
