Wow, where did the last few months go? It is hard to believe that our foodie adventure is already 3 months old. Although we have been absorbed by The High Street Delicatessen, we love that people are still finding us. It seems like the perfect time to provide a quick catch up on ‘the story so far‘
Our first challenge was to pick a ‘Day 1 stock list‘. Our sourcing ‘philosophy’ is ALL about ‘local’, ‘Welsh’ and ‘handpicked’; sometimes, we are lucky enough to discover products which tick all 3 boxes!
As we prepared to throw open the doors to The High Street Delicatessen, we showcased #10GreatTastesofWales including Radnor Preserves and Hilltop Honey which both absolutely fall into all three categories of ‘local’, ‘Welsh’ and ‘handpicked’
It has felt to us that people are starting to regain a passion for local independent businesses. We are sensing that people are returning to the High Street AND making a connection with locally-sourced produce. For that reason, we actively promote a #shoplocal mantra
When we are not in the shop, we are searching out food influences, sometimes in restaurants, often over a great coffee, occasionally from our experiences on our travels. We are learning every day, including how to discover new products to help people live with health concerns or dietary restrictions
We love to have people hanging out in The High Street Delicatessen, talking food, tasting food, discovering new tastes … and what better way to get our lovely customers to linger than to serve awesome Welsh-roasted coffee
So, if you are just joining us, “welcome” … if you have been with us every step of the way, thank you SO much for your support … if you know someone who might like our set-up, please share and make sure they don’t miss out!
